Bio
Terrencia Martin is a Materials Science and Engineering Ph.D. candidate with anticipated graduation in 2027. Her work focuses on plasma-based surface and interfacial modification of carbon nanotube yarns to dramatically improve their mechanical and functional performance in advanced composite materials.
Research
My research focuses on modifying the surface of carbon nanotube yarns(CNTY). My team and I have been using Plasma to treat these yarns. We are trying to determine what type of effect plasma has not only on the surface but on the interface of the CNTY. From the results we got so far with the right modifications of the plasma treatment it can impact the properties on the CNTY interface and surface.
